you came to us at the most opportune of moments.

Emerged from the womb of the books that so opportunely found you

When your mind was fertile

And ripe for picking like a raw berry

And when you arrived you made our lives oh so merry

Plopped onto our syllabus like dessert after 3 bowls of salad(with no dressing, no croutons, no crispy jalapenos, and absolutely no crispy onions!)

And how sweet was the dessert and how somber was the ballad

That cleansed our palate from the absurdity of (sorry no rhyme here even though it wants to exist)the idea that our life isn’t as absurd as yours

You made us laugh and pity you for being so foolish and naive

But maybe we’re so naive to think that you’re naive

And not just in love with the veil that is over your eyes

Because when jesus tore the veil, the spirit descended

But the spirit was always with them in spirit.
